Travelan® is an oral polyclonal antibody therapy developed to target the endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and other pathogenic bacterial components in the human gastrointestinal tract. It is an over-the-counter product that helps to reduce the risk of Travellers’ Diarrhoea when you are travelling overseas. In Australia Travelan® is listed in the ARTG, AUST L 106709. It is specifically indicated to;
Notably, Travelan® is not an antibiotic and will not cause antibiotic resistance.
When you take one or two caplets of Travelan® before a meal, the anti-ETEC antibodies lay in wait in the gastrointestinal tract. If you consume food or drinks that are contaminated with Travellers’ Diarrhoea causing bacteria, Travelan® utilises specific antibodies to bind the bacteria and the toxins they produce effectively neutralising them and inhibiting their attachment to the gastrointestinal tract reducing LPS-related inflammation and colonisation.
In short, Travelan® works to target and neutralise bacteria and the toxins they produce before they can make you sick and ruin your dream holiday!
Travelan® is a caplet that should be taken orally before every meal.
Take one or two caplets three times per day, starting 48 hours before travel and during the period of travel.
Travelan® should be used as an adjunct to normal travel hygiene practices.
